Bill Crews

pastor

bill@gracechurchcolumbia.org

Pastor Bill Crews joined our staff in 2017 and is passionate about discipleship. He believes the best way for people to grow spiritually is through relationships with others where they find encouragement, discover biblical truth, and enjoy a life lived on mission.

Pastor Bill sees his role as pastor as one that equips people to live out the gospel by pursuing their identity in Christ, engaging their world, and sacrificing freely. This includes a call to teach biblical truth in a practical and understandable way so that genuine life change can occur.

As a life long learner, Pastor Bill loves to read and for fun he loves to take things apart "just to see how they work." With degrees in Mechanical and Environmental Engineering, and 18 years of working in an industrial setting, he approaches most things in life from an analytical perspective.

For 10 years, Pastor Bill served as an Administrative Pastor in FL.

Most importantly, Pastor Bill loves his family. He and his wife, Jane are both natives of South Carolina and graduates of Clemson University. They are the parents of Ellie and Matthew.

JOHN CROMER

PASTOR of discipleship

john@gracechurchcolumbia.org

John has been a part of Grace since we began in November of 2004. He started as a leader of the worship team and was soon given the role of Worship Coordinator. After completing his Masters in Pastoral Counseling and Spiritual Formation from Columbia International University in 2010, John transitioned to the role of Pastor of Discipleship.

John enjoys playing percussion and participating in the worship team, but he has also enjoyed growing in his current role as he helps to guide our church in going deeper in our walk with Christ. From Life Groups, to Bible Studies, or community outreach events, John enjoys connecting with others and encouraging them to connect deeper with one another and to share the love of Christ with those in their spheres of influence.

John has been married to his wife Betsy since 2006 and they have one daughter, Hannah. John enjoys spending time with his family, being outdoors, exercising with his F3 group, and cheering on the Gamecocks.

mary kay bernard

worship leader/Church Administrator

marykay@gracechurchcolumbia.org

Mary Kay joined the GraceChurch staff in 2016 after leading worship at churches in Florida, Virginia and Hawaii. She has degrees in Business Management and Accounting (Bradley University, Peoria, IL) and a Master's in Business Administration (Webster University, Irvine, CA).  Her strongest passion, however, has always been with worship at the local church.

Mary Kay is married to Joe and his USMC career is what originally moved them from place to place. They have four grown children - Matthew, Michael, Jake and Anne.

In her spare time, she enjoys photography and is an avid sports fan, especially with her hometown Cleveland teams and several college teams, which now includes the Gamecocks, of course!

Heather Wilson

Children's Ministry Coordinator

heather@gracechurchcolumbia.org

Heather joined the GraceChurch staff in 2022.  She was born and raised in Maryland and graduated in 2009 from Liberty University in Virginia with a degree in elementary education. After college, she moved back home and worked in a daycare center, floating between classrooms with ages 6 weeks through 5 and eventually ran the K-5th grade program. She moved to Ohio in 2013 and married David 2014. Their son James was born in 2016 and their daughter Wren in 2018.

Heather is the 3rd of 7 kids, and her parents have 15 grandchildren. David is the oldest of 6, so they both come from big families. It's no wonder that being around children comes naturally to her!

Her favorite color is purple, and she hates being cold. So, Heather, David, James, Wren and their crazy dog Taz, relocated to Columbia to escape Ohio's bitterly cold winters.
